Guidelines for responsible use of alert.new

  • Monitor websites in violation of their terms of service
  • Ignore robots.txt directives (where applicable)
  • Circumvent rate limiting or access restrictions
  • Scrape websites that explicitly prohibit automated access

1.5 Service Abuse

  • Create excessive numbers of feeds to abuse our infrastructure
  • Use automated systems to create accounts or subscriptions
  • Attempt to overwhelm or disrupt our services (DoS attacks)
  • Probe, scan, or test our system for vulnerabilities without authorization
  • Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code

1.6 Commercial Abuse

  • Resell or redistribute our Service without authorization
  • Use the Service to build a competing product
  • Exceed reasonable API usage limits

2. Monitoring Restrictions

While alert.new can monitor any public URL, you should exercise good judgment:

  • Respect rate limits: We monitor pages at reasonable intervals. Do not attempt to force more frequent checks beyond your plan limits.
  • Public pages only: Only monitor publicly accessible pages. Do not attempt to monitor login-protected content.

3. Content Responsibility

You are responsible for all content you monitor and any actions you take based on notifications. We do not endorse or verify the accuracy of third-party content.

If you receive notifications about content that may be illegal or harmful, do not redistribute or act upon it in ways that could cause harm.

4. API and Automation

If you use our API or integrate with our Service:

  • Handle errors gracefully without excessive retries
